Pen y Ghent is popular 'top' with both walkers and runners, who often ascend from Horton In Ribblesdale. Our route will see us avoid the crowds by starting at Helwith Bridge, ascending Pen y Ghent from the South, joining the Yorkshire 3 Peaks route for a while, before heading back to Helwith Bridge along the River Ribble.

Approximately 13km/ with 550m of ascent

Found in the West of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Pen y Ghent is famously known as the first peak of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge.

*All proceeds from this event will go to the White Fox Talking Community Interest Company.

The route/day will be led by Mark'Charlie'valentine who is an International & Winter Mountain Leader, registered Nature Therapy Practitioner & host of the White Fox Talking podcast.

REQUIREMENTS: Those joining this half day guided route should have an adequate level of fitness needed for a full days walking in hilly countryside, and also have appropriate clothing and equipment for the conditions to gain the most from the day.

Those attending should be in possession of all items listed on kit list (which will be sent out with information pack on booking).

INCLUDED: Route leadership, planning, organisation and information by fully qualified and experienced mountain leader.

NOT INCLUDED: Travel, accommodation, any other expenses such as parking fees, etc. We also do not provide any travel or personal accident insurance.

PLEASE NOTE: It may be necessary to take an alternative route from that originally outlined should conditions on the day warrant so.
