The Principality of Andorra is a micro-state in the Pyrenees mountains chain, found on the border of it's (much larger) neighbours France & Spain. This trip will see us journey into the mountainous landscape of the 16th smallest country in the world. From our valley base we will select a route into a different part of this entirely mountainous state for 3 of our days before returning to our accommodation each night. Two days and one night will be spent making a trek to stay overnight in a Mountain ‘refugio’ before aiming to summit the highest peak in Andorra, ‘Pic de Coma Pedrosa’, then descending back to our valley base.
SUGGESTED ITINERARY:
Days 1 - 3
Based in the charming mountain village of Arinsal, we'll spend our first three days exploring Andorra's scenic trails, returning each evening to the comfort of our cozy hotel.
Day 4 we'll embark on an overnight expedition to the summit of Pic de Coma Pedrosa, Andorra's highest peak. Our journey will take us to a welcoming mountain refuge for the night, where we'll recharge & refuel
amid serene alpine surroundings.
Day 5 brings us to the summit of Pic de Coma Pedrosa, where sweeping views of the Andorran mountains await. We'll then descend back to Arinsal, where our adventure
concludes with a final night in the village. This trek offers a mix of challenging hikes, breathtaking scenery, and rewarding summit views an ideal choice for mountain
enthusiasts..
(Please note: adverse weather conditions, or unforeseen events, may require changes to proposed itinerary)
This trip would be ideal for anyone looking to enjoy mountain trekking overseas and would also be ideal as an introduction to using a mountain Refugio. There may be long and steep ascents/descents during this trip so an appropriate level of physical fitness prior to the trip would be beneficial.
